Carreer
Giovanni Santamaria has an international finance and management background. After completing his business administration and financial studies at the Universita' Cattolica in Milan, he joined the international auditors, Coopers & Lybrand in Frankfurt. There he was involved in various auditing assignments in Germany and Luxemburg in the banking, asset management and entertainment electronics sectors.

After completing his MBA at INSEAD in 1994, he joined GE Capital, where he worked in several management posts in Brussels, Frankfurt and London. In these positions he was responsible for the sourcing, acquisition and integration of financial service companies (leasing and commercial finance) in the GE Capital Group. In addition he successfully took over, developed and integrated several companies in Italy, Germany. Norway and Switzerland.

In 2000 he joined the internet company Autoscout24 GmbH, as managing director and chief financial officer responsible for national and international finance. Under his leadership, Autoscout24 developed into one of the leading forces in the European internet sector with a turnover of over € 30 million (with excellent profitability). In the beginning of 2004 the company was successfully sold to a leading international telecommunication corporation.

Education
Giovanni Santamaria studied commerce and economics at the Universita' Cattolica in Milan, Italy and holds an MBA attained at INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.
